AWS cloud consulting and migration

Move to AWS with a plan you can explain to your board, or take control of the environment you already have. Containers, infrastructure as code, cost and security, handled by engineers who have run these systems in production.

Overview

Most AWS projects do not fail because AWS is hard. They fail because nobody wrote down what the system actually does, the migration was treated as a single weekend event, and the infrastructure ended up living in people's heads and in the console rather than in code. The bill grows, the environments stop matching each other, and every change feels risky.

NaVasSys helps businesses at every stage of that journey. If you are still on premises or in another hosting setup, we plan and carry out the migration in stages so that the business keeps running. If you are already on AWS, we review what is there, find the waste and the risk, and bring the environment under version control so it stays fixed.

The work comes from 20 years of building enterprise systems, including container platforms on Amazon ECS, relational databases on Amazon RDS, and entire environments defined in Terraform. We write the code ourselves, not just the slide deck, so what we recommend is what we know can be built.

Problems we are usually called in to solve

  • We need to move to AWS and do not know where to start

We inventory applications and dependencies, group them by how hard they are to move, and decide for each one whether to rehost, re-platform or rebuild. You get a sequenced plan with the risks written down.

  • The AWS bill keeps climbing

We trace spend back to the services and workloads causing it, then fix the causes: oversized databases, idle environments, unattached storage, missing lifecycle rules, and architecture that scales cost faster than traffic.

  • Production no longer matches the code

Years of console changes leave infrastructure that nobody can safely recreate. We detect the drift, reconcile it into Terraform, and add checks to your pipeline so it cannot quietly return.

  • Deployments are slow, manual or frightening

We containerize services, set up repeatable pipelines and use rolling or blue-green deployments, so releasing is routine instead of an event.

  • We worry about security and recovery

We review identity and access, network layout, encryption, backups and restore procedures, and fix the gaps in order of real risk.

What you get

What we deliver

  • Migration plan and landing zone

A written, sequenced plan, plus the account structure, networking and baseline security that workloads land into.

  • Containerized workloads on ECS

Services packaged as containers, running on Amazon ECS with load balancing, auto scaling, health checks and sensible resource limits.

  • Infrastructure as code

Reviewable Terraform modules for networks, compute, databases and permissions, with remote state, environments that match, and a pipeline that applies changes safely.

  • Database migration

Moving relational data to Amazon RDS with rehearsed cut-overs, validated copies and a rollback path.

  • Cost and drift report

A prioritized list of savings and configuration problems with the effort and risk of each, then the fixes themselves if you want us to make them.

  • Runbooks and handover

Plain-language documentation, monitoring, alerts and a walkthrough, so your team owns the result.

How we work

Our approach

  1. Discover

We read the architecture, the accounts and the bill, and talk to the people who run the system.

  2. Design

We propose the target architecture and the order of moves, with trade-offs stated plainly.

  3. Build and migrate

Infrastructure is built in code, workloads move in small steps, and each step is verified before the next.

  4. Stabilize

We tune cost and performance, finish the documentation and train your team.

Technology we use

  • Amazon ECS
  • Amazon RDS
  • Terraform
  • AWS IAM
  • Amazon VPC
  • CloudFront
  • CloudWatch
  • GitHub Actions

Frequently asked questions

How long does an AWS migration take?

It depends on how many applications are involved and how tangled their dependencies are. A single well-understood application can move in weeks; a portfolio of interconnected systems is planned in phases over months. The assessment gives you a realistic schedule before you commit to the build.

Do you only do greenfield work, or can you fix an existing AWS setup?

Both. A lot of our work is reviewing an existing environment, finding cost and risk, and bringing it under Terraform without disrupting production.

Why Terraform instead of clicking in the console?

Code can be reviewed, versioned, tested and recreated. A console-built environment depends on memory. Terraform also makes drift visible, which is where many production incidents begin.

Will you manage our AWS environment afterwards?

We design for your team to run it, with documentation and runbooks. If you want ongoing engineering support, we can agree that separately.
